Unpacking emotions and partnerships – BBNaija
In the Big Brother Naija house, relationships and partnerships are constantly put to the test. For Shaun and Victoria, known collectively as Shatoria, their first diary session together provided a revealing look into the complexities of their partnership.
Earlier in the day, Victoria confided in Mayor Frosh that she and Shaun aren’t best friends, little did she know that she was setting the stage for a loaded session with Biggie in the diary room later on and here’s how it went.
Life as partners
Biggie started easy on them by checking in on how they are doing and which housemates they have been vibing with. Pleasantries out of the way, Biggie asked the question that unravelled it all – How are you enjoying life as partners?
Victoria responded by first saying, “There’s no other person I’d rather be with than with Shaun. It’s been great”. Shaun, however, had a different response as he admitted that their partnership has been a challenge for him. In his words, “I struggled with our partnership. It requires more attention, which is not my strength. I’m more individual-minded”. He went on to reveal that though they don’t think the same or act the same, she’s still his partner.
Words of wisdom
Stepping into the role of a counsellor, Biggie advised them to have a conversation and remember that they came into the house together. As a symbolic gesture to mark the beginning of a clean slate, Biggie suggested a handshake, which they did in the diary room. Biggie added a touch of humour by joking that Shaun shouldn’t break Victoria’s hand 🤣. Will this advice impact their friendship going forward?
Rhuthee’s heartfelt confession
Shatoria weren’t the only ones dealing with their own wahala. In a tearful conversation with Mayor Frosh, Rhuthee shared a deeply personal story. She recounted becoming pregnant at 16 and her struggle with the shame, explaining how she rarely told people about her child due to her feelings of embarrassment. However, she has since emerged from that shell, and now, her daughter is the best thing that has ever happened to her. While she spoke, Mayor Frosh provided a listening ear and we can’t help but wonder if he’d keep her confessions to himself.
As the duos manage their emotions, personal differences and the game, it will be interesting to see how they all evolve in the No Loose Guard house.
